 한나라당 고문에 김신조 내정
 37명 당 북한인권위 구성안 추인

한나라당이 ‘무장공비’ 출신의 김신조 목사(사진)를 고문으로 내정했다. 

  
당 북한인권위원장 이은재 의원은 5일 “탈북자들이 김 목사를 중심으로 한국 사회에 성공적으로 정착하기를 바라는 마음으로 대표적 탈북 인사인 김 목사를 고문으로 영입했다”고 밝혔다.
  
김 목사는 지난 1968년 1월 북한 특수공작원 30명과 함께 박정희 전 대통령을 암살하기 위해 남파됐다가 생포된 남파공작원으로 북한 민족보위성 정찰국 소속 124군부대 무장공비 31명 중 유일한 생존자로 알려져 있다.
  
이후 개신교로 개종, 서울침례회신학교에서 침례교 신학을 전공하고 지난 1997년부터 목사로 활동해왔다.
  
한편 한나라당은 전날 비공개 최고위원회의를 갖고 김 목사와 탈북자 출신 여성박사 1호인 이애란 교수, 안찬일 세계북한연구센터 소장 등 총 37명이 참여하는 위원회 구성안을 추인했다.
