 “명진의 봉은사 주지 재임용 반대”
 ‘명진의 멸빈(滅&#25839;)퇴진 촉구’ 기자회견 열려

“명진은 욕심을 버리고 산사로 돌아가 수행하라”

  
명진 봉은사 주지에 대한 ‘멸빈(滅&#25839;)퇴진 촉구’ 기자회견이 열렸다. 

 
승려의 신분을 증명하는 도첩(度牒)을 빼앗고 승적을 박탈한다는 뜻으로, 불교에서는 멸빈이라는 말이 있다. 바로 이러한 멸빈을 촉구하는 기자회견이 22일 오후 한국 불교계의 총본산인 조계사 앞에서 열린 것이다. 

  
라이트코리아·비젼21국민희망연대·국민통합선진화행동본부 등 시민단체들은, “명진스님에게 봉은사 주지의 재임용을 결코 해서는 안된다”며 “그 어떤 다른 직위도 주어서는 안된다”고 목소리를 높였다.

  
아울러 “조계종은 종헌, 종법을 무시하고 종단의 권위와 명예를 실추시킨 명진스님에 대한 멸빈(滅&#25839;)을 단행할 것”을 촉구하기도 했다. 

  
라이트코리아 봉대홍 대표는 “명진은 여당과 정부를 비방하고 정치선동을 일삼으면서 조계종의 위상을 추락시켰다”며, “욕심을 버리고 산사로 돌아가 수행해야 할 것”이라고 말했다.

 
한편 이들은 조계사 앞 기자회견을 끝내고, 강남구 삼성동 소재의 봉은사 앞에서 “정치선동 일삼는 명진스님”, “봉은사 주지 재임용 반대”, “종단퇴출 단행촉구” 등이 적혀있는 플랜카드를 들고 1인시위를 열기도 했다.
