 이상권 ‘한전·가스공사 모라토리엄’ 경고
 한전, 최근 5년간 이자만 3조 4천억 지출

지식경제부 산하 공기업인 ‘한국전력공사(이하 한전)’와 ‘한국가스공사(이하 가스공사)’의 금융 이자 비용이 큰 폭으로 증가하고 있는 가운데, “경제가 불안정한 상황에서 모라토리엄(채무이행불능)으로 이어질 수 있다”는 경고성 지적이 나왔다. 
  

국회 지식경제위 이상권(한나라당, 인천계양을)의원은 27일, 국회예산정책처의 ‘2004-2009년 공기업 재무현황 평가’를 분석하고 “지경부 산하 공기업의 금융 이자 비용 지출이 심각하다”며, 이같이 주장했다. 

  
李 의원은 “최근 5년간의 내역을 살펴보아도 한전은 3조 3,606억원, 가스공사는 1조 9,478억원으로 천문학적인 비용을 단순 이자 비용으로 지출했다”면서 “두 공기업만 합쳐도 5년간 5조, 연평균 1조원이란 돈이 이자로 지출되었다”고 강조했다. 
  
그러면서, “1조라는 돈이 금액이 너무 커서 잘 안 와 닿을 수도 있는데, 쉽게 생각해서 강남에 있는 중대형 아파트를 하루에 2채씩 살 수 있는 금액”고 덧붙이기도 했다. 
  
이어, “상황이 이러한데도 한전을 비롯한 공기업들이 해마다 성과급의 과다 지급이나 편법 지급 등으로 구설수에 오르고 있다는 것은 회사의 상황은 관심이 없고 자기 주머니 챙기기만 급급하다는 것을 보여주는 사례”라고 꼬집었다.
