 친북단체 김태영 국방장관 고발
 “천안함 조작의 주범으로 처벌하라”?

노골적 반미친북단체인 주한미군철수운동본부(약칭 주미철본)가 ‘천안함 사건 조작의 주범’이라며 김태영 국방장관을 고발했다.

 
주미철본은 23일 논평에서 “오늘 오전 11시, 서울중앙지검에 김태영 국방장관 등을 천안함 조작 사건의 주범으로 처벌해 달라는 고발장을 제출하였다”고 밝혔다.

 
이들은 고발장을 낸 이유와 관련, “서울의 모 단체(자유개척청년단으로 추정)에서 지난 4월 우리 단체를 천안함 관련 허위사실 유포로 고발한데 따른 대응차원에서 시작을 하여, 자체적으로 조사하던 중에 조작한 것이 명백해 보이는 물증을 찾았기 때문”이라며 “국방부가 제시한 ‘결정적 증거물’ 자체가 곧 ‘결정적 조작 증거물’”이라고 말했다.

 
이같은 주장의 근거로는 “폭발을 했다는 어뢰에서 은박지가 멀쩡하게 남아 있다”는 점을 들었다. 그러면서 “합조단이 제시한 어선의 어뢰는 해군에서 언젠가 부터 보관하던 어뢰 중에 하나”라며 “그것을 어선으로 몰래 옮겨 놓고 연출을 한 것”이라고 주장했다. 

 
이같이 밝힌 주미철본은 “따라서 우리의 고발장 제출은 너무나 당연한 것”이라며 “이번 고발을 계기로 천안함 침몰의 정확한 원인을 다시 조사하여야 하며, 유가족들도 남편이나 자식들이 어떻게 사망했는지를 있는 그대로 알아야 할 것”이라고 덧붙였다.

 
한편 이 단체는 천안함 사건으로 희생된 장병들을 ‘영웅’으로 호칭하는 것에 반발하는 등의 성명을 냈다가, 자유개척청년단(대표 최대집)으로부터 고발당해 현재 당국의 수사를 받고 있는 것으로 알려져 있다.
