국무부 북 행동 바꾸기 위한 조치 계속될 것

미국은 북한의 행동을 바꾸기 위한 조치를 계속 취해나갈 것이라고, 국무부가 밝혔다.
필립 크롤리 국무부 공보담당 차관보는 22일 정례기자회견에서 이 같이 말했다고 미국 소리 방송이 보도했다.
크롤리 차관보는, 북한 지도부에 영향을 미치고, 근본적인 정책 변화를 유도하기 위한 조치를 계속 취해나갈 것이라면서, 북한은 한국에 대한 도발을 중단하고, 앞서 약속한 비핵화 의무를 이행해야 한다고 말했다.
천안함 사건 이후 미-한 양국은 대규모 합동군사훈련에 돌입했으며, 미국은 별도의 대북 제재를 추진 중이다.
크롤리 차관보는 이에 반발한 북한의 추가 도발 가능성도 배제할 수 없다면서, 합동군사훈련은 철저한 대비태세를 보여줄 것이라고 말했다.
한편 미국의 추가 대북 제재가 지역 안보를 위협한다는 북한 관리의 주장에 대해, 크롤리 차관보는 오히려 북한이 안보 위협이 되고 있다고 반박했다.
크롤리 차관보는 북한은 천안함 공격과 같은 도발조치로 지역 안보에 악영향을 미치고 있다고 말했다.
