“北 도발 판명되면 단호하게 대처해야”
“李대통령 백령도 방문 환영” 시민단체 논평

이명박 대통령이 30일 천안함 침몰 현장을 전격 방문한 것과 관련, 시민단체 자유주의진보연합(약칭 자유진보)은 같은 날 논평을 내고 “이명박 대통령의 백령도 현장 방문에 박수를 보낸다”고 밝혔다.
자유진보는 “천안함 침몰이 북한의 기뢰 혹은 어뢰 공격일 가능성이 강하게 제기되고 있다”며, “이명박 대통령이 위험을 무릎 쓰고 현장을 방문한 데 대해 우리는 마음에서부터 우러나는 박수를 보낸다”고 말했다.
이들은 “국군의 최고통수권자인 대통령이 북한과 접하고 있는 최전선인 백령도를 방문한 것은 이번이 처음”이라고 의미를 부여했다.
이들은 “앞으로도 이명박 대통령이 천안함 침몰 사건에 대해 각별한 관심을 기울여 줄 것으로 믿는다”며, 특히 “천안함 침몰이 북한의 도발로 인한 것으로 판명될 경우, 국군의 최고통수권자로서 단호하게 대처해 주기를 기대한다”고 강조했다
