 왜 민주당이 특정방송 수호천사 자임하는지 알겠다
 한나라, 민주 미디어법 대안에 "말장난에 시간끌기 전술"


비보도채널에만 신문과 대기업의 진입을 허용한다는 민주당의 미디어법 대안에 한나라당은 "말장난에 불과하다"며 기막히다는 반응을 보였다.

  
장광근 사무총장은 10일 열린 주요당직자회의에서 "민주당이 그동안 미디어법 관련 입법에 극구 반대해다가 느닷없이 자체 개정안을 발표했는데 이는 눈가리고 아웅하는 식의 시간끌기 전술"이라며 이같이 말했다.

"현재의 편향된 방송보도 활용할 속셈 드러낸 것"

장 총장은 "결국 대기업과 신문사에 대해 보도기능이 없는 종합편성채널 지분참여를 허용하고 보도기능이 있는 종합채널은 (시장지배력) 10% 미만 신문사에만 참여토록 하자는 내용인데 한마디로 말장난에 불과하다"고 비판했다. 이어 "특정신문의 방송참여를 허용하지 않겠다는 기존 주장에다 일부 단어를 새로 끼워놓고, 기존단어 배열만 바꾸는 식으로 포장한 언어유희"라며 "결국 매체간 장벽을 허물자는 법개정 본연의 정신에도 부합되지 않을 뿐 아니라 미디어산업 대외경쟁력 강화 목표도 달성할 수 없는 미디어발전 후퇴 발상"이라고 주장했다.

장 총장은 "민주당이 방송보도에 집착하는 의도를 또 한번 확인시켜주는 증거이기도 하다"면서 "현재 편향된 보도상황을 그대로 유지해 정치적으로 활용하겠다는 속내를 드러낸 것 아니냐"고 따진 뒤 "왜 민주당이 특정 지상파 방송의 수호천사 역할을 자임하는지 미뤄 알만 하다"고 했다. 또 "한나라당은 원칙과 대의를 관철하고자 하는 노력에는 더 이상의 머뭇거림이 있을 수 없다"고 강조했다.
