국정원 업무보고…北 귀순병사 오청성 송환 공식 요구 없어
지난해 11월 13일 판문점 공동경비구역(JSA)을 통해 귀순한 북한 병사가 북한에서 음주운전 사고 뒤
우발적으로 귀순한 것으로 확인됐다.
국정원에 따르면 북한 귀순 병사 오청성(26) 씨가 교통사고를 낸 뒤 우발적으로 남측에 내려왔다는 설
명이다.
국정원은 국회 정보위원회 여야 간사를 상대로 한 업무 보고에서 오 씨가 음주운전을 했고, 이후 정신을
차린 뒤 우발적으로 귀순했다는 내용을 전달했다.
국정원은 오 씨가 지난해 11월 취중 상태에서 운전대를 잡았다가 가드레일을 들이받는 교통사고를 냈
고, 귀순 당시에도 취중이었던 것으로 파악하고 있다.
오 씨의 음주운전 사고에 따른 인명피해 여부는 아직 확인되지 않았으며, 북측은 우리 측에 오 씨의 송
환을 공식 요구한 바 없다는 게 국정원의 설명이다.[데일리안 = 박진여 기자]
