17일 남북 평창 실무회담 고려한 조치로 추정
울릉도 앞바다에서 발견된 북한 소형 선박의 시신 4구를 18일 북측에 돌려보내기로 했다.
통일부는 당초 17일 판문점을 통해 송환할 계획이었으나, 북측의 요청에 따라 하루 연기하게 됐다.
지난 7일 울릉도 앞바다에서 북한 소형 선박과 북한 주민으로 추정되는 시신 4구가 발견되면서 이를 북측
으로 송환하기 위한 절차가 진행되고 있다.
정부는 지난 12일 북한 주민 추정 시신 4구의 송환을 위해 판문점 남북연락사무소를 통해 대한적십자사
회장 명의의 대북통지문을 조선적십자위원회 위원장에게 전달했다.
통일부 당국자는 "북한 주민의 시신 4구를 유류품을 포함해 17일 오후 3시 판문점에서 북한에 전달할 계
획이었지만 오늘 오후 북측의 요청으로 일정을 하루 연기하기로 했다"며 "구체적인 인도시간은 내일 논의
할 예정"이라고 전했다.
북측이 시신 송환을 하루 연기한 것은 17일 판문점에서 열리는 남북 평창 실무회담을 고려한 것으로 보인
