 정몽준 정당도 아니고 리더십도 없다…
 "민주당과 서로 지지 역전됐다 안됐다 주장하지만 국민냉소"

정몽준 한나라당 최고위원이 자당을 비판했다. 수위도 높았다. 무엇보다 국회 개원을 두고 민주당과 힘겨루기를 벌이고 있는 상황에서 나온 자당에 대한 쓴소리라 당 지도부는 정 최고위원의 비판이 더 아프다.

22일 열린 최고위원회의에서 정 최고위원은 "국내 정치 한 말씀만 드리겠다"고 포문을 열었다. 곧바로 "지금 세간에는 정치권 전반에 걸쳐 불신과 냉소가 팽배해있는 것으로 보인다"며 자당과 민주당 지지율 신경전을 예로 들며 비판을 쏟았다. 정 최고위원은 "한나라당과 민주당이 지금 서로 지지율이 '역전됐다' '역전 안됐다'고 하는데 국민이 볼 때 이런 것 자체가 냉소의 대상이라고 나는 생각한다"고 주장했다.

그는 "민주당 얘기는 내가 할 필요도 없고, 한나라당에 대해선 '정당도 아니고 리더십도 없다'는 표현을 쓴다"며 "'무슨 일이 있든 간에 한나라당에 있든 없든 지금보다 더 나빠지기도 어렵다'고 할 정도라고 한다"고 비판했다.

정 최고위원은 "우리가 송구스럽게 생각해야 할 것은 특히 한나라당을 지지하는 분들 사이에서도 걱정과 냉소의 대상이 된다는 것"이라며 "많은 의원과 당원들의 의견을 모아, 중지를 모아 현재의 난관을 슬기롭게 해쳐 나갔으면 한다"고 주문했다.
