 백악관 지금 북한에 가능한 모든 압박 조치 가할 때
 

샌더스 대변인, 트럼프 행정부의 대북 기조 분명히 밝혀

 미국 백악관이 지금은 북한과 대화가 아닌 압박의 시기라고 트럼프 행정부의 대북 기조를 분명히 밝혔다.

 새라 허커비 샌더스 백악관 대변인은 5일 정례브리핑에서 “지금은 많은 시간을 북한과의 대화에 초점을 
맞출 때가 아니라 가능한 한 모든 압박 조치를 가할 때”라며 이 같은 입장을 밝혔다고 미국의 소리(VOA) 
방송이 보도했다.

 샌더스 대변인은 “미국은 이런 우선순위를 명확히 해왔다”며 “앞으로 이런 과정을 계속할 것”이라고 말
했다.

 특히, 그는 “미국은 러시아, 중국을 포함한 모두에게 (북한의) 위협에 대응하기 위해 더 많은 것을 할 필
요가 있다고 말해왔다”고 강조했다.

 그러면서 “북한의 (핵·미사일) 위협은 범세계적 위협”이라며 “모두가 대북 압박에 동참할 필요가 있다”고 
덧붙였다.

 샌더스 대변인은 또한, “짐 매티스 국방장관과 도널드 트럼프 대통령이 과거에도 여러 번 밝혔듯이, 우리
가 찾는 결과를 얻을 때까지 모든 선택 방안을 테이블 위에 계속 올려놓을 것”이라고 밝혔다.(Konas)
