 태영호 “김정은 핵포기 않을 것” … 美 “핵보유 인정 안 해”

  김정은이 핵을 포기하지 않을 것이라는 태영호 전 주영 북한대사관 공사의 발언에 대해 미국 정부가 “북
한을 핵보유국으로 인정하지 않는다”는 입장을 재확인했다고 연합뉴스가 28일 미국의 소리(VOA) 방송을 
인용, 전했다.

 미국의 소리(VOA) 방송은 이날 애나 리치 앨런 미 국무부 동아시아태평양 담당 대변인이 전화 인터뷰를 
통해 “북한을 핵보유국으로 인정하지 않을 것”이며 “북한 지도자는 비핵화를 통해 그들이 추구하는 평화
와 안보, 번영을 이룰지, 아니면 지금의 행보를 계속해 점점 큰 외교적 고립과 경제적 결핍에 직면할지 선
택해야 한다”고 말했다고 보도했다.

 또 리치 앨런 대변인은 “(유엔 안보리의 신규 대북제재인) 결의 2321호는 북한이 더욱 소외의 길로 나아
가고 있다는 분명한 신호를 보낸다”며 강력한 대북제재를 지속 추진하겠다는 입장을 밝혔다.

 이어 “우리는 현실적”이라며 “북한의 핵포기를 원하지만, 북한이 주민의 절박한 요구를 포함한 그 어떤 
것보다 핵 프로그램을 우선시하는 것을 봐 왔다”고 지적했다.

 한편 태 전 공사는 전날 정부서울청사에서 열린 통일부 출입기자단 간담회에서 “김정은 정권이 곧 핵무
기”라며 “1조 달러, 10조 달러를 준다고 해도 북한은 핵무기를 포기하지 않는다”고 말했다.(konas)
