 온실가스 배출량 16년만에 첫 감소

한국디지털뉴스 이정근 기자 = 국내 온실가스 배출량이 6억 9000만톤으로 전년보다 0.8% 하락한 것으로 나타났다.
 
특히 에너지 연소 내 발전 부문의 배출량이 2013년 대비 1300만 톤이나 줄어들어 국가 총 배출량 감소에 영향을 미친 것으로 조사됐다.
 
산업통상자원부는 2014년 국내 온실가스 배출량은 전년보다 590만 톤 감소한 6억 9000만 톤으로 집계됐다고 28일 밝혔다. 지난 1998년 이후 처음으로 감소했다. 

 
발전부문 배출량이 줄어든 이유는 화력발전이 줄고 온실가스 배출이 없거나 적은 원자력과 집단에너지 발전이 늘었기 때문이라고 산업부는 설명했다.
 
원자력 발전은 온실가스 배출이 없는 발전원으로, 2013년 가동되지 않았던 신고리 1·2호기 등이 2014년 가동돼 발전량이 2013년 대비 12.7% 증가(1만7623GWh)한데 따른다.  

 
집단에너지 발전은 석탄화력에 비해 온실가스 배출이 적은 발전원으로 2014년 중 공급 지역이 확대돼 발전량이 37.8% 증가(9231GWh)하면서 온실가스 감축에 간접적으로 기여했다.
 
화력발전은 2013년보다 6.9%, 석유·액화천연가스(LNG) 화력발전량은 58% 감소했다.
 
2014년 중 산업공정에서 배출된 온실가스량은 5400만톤으로 전년보다 5.0% 늘었다.
 
시멘트 클링커와 석회 생산에 따른 배출량은 2700만톤, 반도체 디스플레이 공정 가스 소비에 따른 배출량은 970만톤, 냉매 사용에 따른 배출량은 810만톤, 석회석 소비에 따른 배출량은 530만톤으로 각각 집계됐다.
