 IS 트위터에 히스로·LA·JFK공항 테러 위협
 터키와 방글라데시 테러로 공포감 커지는 가운데 보안 강화

극단주의 이슬람 수니파 무장세력 ‘이슬람 국가’(IS)의 추종자 트위터에서 영국 런던 히스로 공항과 미국의 로스앤젤레스(LA) 공항, 뉴욕 존에프케네디(JFK) 공항을 공격하겠다는 경고가 등장했다.

1일(현지시간) 영국 일간 텔레그래프에 따르면 이 트위터 계정은 IS가 히스로 공항에서 미국으로 날아오는 비행기들을 공격할 것이며 히스로, LA, JFK 공항에 (폭발) 장치를 설치하겠다고 밝혔다.

테러리스트의 온라인 활동을 추적하는 사이트 인텔리전스 그룹(SIG)이 찾아낸 이 트위터의 내용이 사실인지 여부는 아직 확인할 수 없는 상황이다. 하지만 지난달 28일 터키 이스탄불 아타튀르크 국제공항 자폭 테러에 이어 1일에는 방글라데시 다카 레스토랑 인질극이 발생한 터라 공포감이 커질 전망이다.

특히 이번 경고가 미국의 독립기념일(7월 4일) 휴일을 앞두고 나왔다는 점에서 미국 전역에서 보안이 강화될 예정이다. 이미 일부 미국 공항은 테러 공격에 대비해 보안을 강화한 가운데 뉴욕 경찰은 처음으로 폭발물 탐지견을 설치하기로 했다. 

한편 최근 JFK 공항에는 수상한 가방이 발견돼 터미널 승객들을 대피시키는 일이 발생하기도 했다. 다행히 가방에는 별다른 문제가 없는 것으로 밝혀졌다.[데일리안 = 스팟뉴스팀]
