이회창 盧 사생활 보호요청 염치없는 특혜요구
자유선진당 이회창 총재는 22일 노무현 전 대통령이 사생활 보호를 이유로 언론의 과잉취재 자제 당부와 관련, "참으로 염치없는 특혜요구"라고 비판했다.
이 총재는 이날 국회에서 열린 당5역회의에서 이같이 비판한 뒤 "공인은 보도취재의 대상이 되는 것은 피할 수 없고, 전직 대통령이라고 해서 보도취재의 대상에서 제외될 특권을 가진 것이 아니다"라고 주장했다.
그는 이어 "노 전 대통령은 재임 시절에 분별없는 말 한마디 때문에 한 회사의 사장으로 하여금 보도취재진 정도가 아니라 세인의 눈이 부끄러워 스스로 목숨을 끊게 만든 일이 있다"며 "많은 국민이 구속수사를 요구하고 있는 마당에 보도취재도 하지 않게 해 달라고 요구하는 것은 민심을 몰라도 너무 모르고 있고 한심하다는 생각이 든다"고 지적했다.
그는 "전직 대통령이 그렇게 변명하고 해명하고 하소연하는 모습은 구속되는 것 못지않게 수치스러운 모습으로 비춰지고 있다는 것을 걱정해야 한다"며 "전직 대통령으로서 제발 무겁게 처신해 주었으면 한다"고 말했다.
