 아깝다 대표연설 아쉬운 정몽준
 홍준표"정몽준에 연설 기회 양보하려 했지만"

공성진, 웃으며 "그런 얘기는 뭣하러 해"      
 
 
정몽준 한나라당 최고위원이 당을 대표해 국회 본회의장에서 연설할 기회를 놓쳤다. 지난 대선 직전 입당한 뒤 당 정착을 위해 대표 선거에 도전하는 등 적극 행보를 보이고 있는 정 최고위원으로선 대표 연설이 당내 세확보를 위한 절호의 기회라 할 수 있다. 

교섭단체 대표연설이 당장 그의 당내 세 확보에 플러스가 되진 않겠지만 당 대표 자격으로 국회 본회의장에 서는 것 자체가 갖는 상징적 의미는 클 수 있다. 더구나 무소속 의원으로 활동하다 6번째 당선된 뒤에야 자신을 뒷받침할 수 있는 정당을 찾은 정 최고위원으로선 더욱 그럴 수 있다.   

홍준표 원내대표는 1일 서울 여의도 당사에서 열린 최고·중진 연석회의에서 "(4월 임시국회) 교섭단체 대표연설은 정몽준 최고위원에게 양보해 연설할 기회를 드리려 했으나 국회법 규정상 교섭단체 대표연설이 안되기에 불가피하게 빠졌다"고 말했다. 그러자 공성진 최고위원은 "그 얘기는 뭣하러 해"라며 웃었다.
