주일 한국문화원에 괴한 방화 시도
25일 자정 무렵 문화원 보조출입구 외벽에 방화 시도.. 석재 외벽이라 피해는 없어

일본 도쿄 신주쿠구에 있는 주일 한국 문화원에 괴한이 방화를 시도한 것으로 알려졌다.
외교부는 25일 밤 11시 50분께 신원을 알 수 없는 사람이 문화원 건물 보조 출입구 좌측 외벽에 라이터용 기름을 붓고 방화를 시도했으며, 그을린 자국을 확인한 문화원 직원이 경찰에 신고했다고 26일 밝혔다.
문화원 건물 외벽이 석재여서 큰 피해를 남기지 않은 채 불은 꺼졌지만 현재 건물 외벽은 그을음이 남은 상태다.
방화 시도 상황은 현장의 폐쇄회로(CC)TV에 찍혔으며, 문화원 관계자는 부상자와 피해자는 없다고 밝혔다.
범인은 방화 시도 후 도주했으며 문화원 측은 일본 경찰에 범인 검거와 건물에 대한 경계강화를 요청한 상태다.
주일 한국대사관은 외교부에 이 사실을 알렸으며 외교부 차원에서도 사건을 면밀히 파악하고 있는 것으로 전해졌다.(konas)
