크림빵 아빠 피해자 아버지 피의자에게 자수해줘 고맙다…원망하지 않아

‘크림빵 아빠’ 뺑소니 사망 사건의 피해자 강모(29)씨의 아버지 강태호(58)씨가 “자수해줘 고맙다”며 피의자를 위로했다.
강씨는 29일 밤 피의자 허모(38)씨가 자수했다는 소식을 접하고 청주 흥덕경찰서를 찾았다. 강씨는 기자들에게 “(허씨가) 잘 선택했다. 자수한 사람을 위로해주러 왔다”고 밝혔다.
강씨는 허씨가 자수한 것에 대해 “가족들이 너무나 고마워했다”며 “(피의자가) 잡히지 말고 자수하기를 신께 간절히 기도했다. 언론을 통해 자수했다는 소식을 듣고 식구들이 모두 박수를 보냈다”고 말했다.
강씨는 또 “세상을 살다보면 실수를 할 수도 있고, 순간 판단을 잘못할 수도 있다”며 “원망은 처음부터 하지 않았다”고 했다. 강씨는 오히려 “그 사람도 한 가정의 가장일 텐데”라며 “우리 애는 땅속에 있지만, 그 사람은 이제 고통의 시작”이라고 허씨를 걱정했다.
그러면서 강씨는 “가족도 있을 텐데 그 사람은 더 고통스러울 것”이라며 “정말 (자수를) 잘 선택했고, 너무 걱정하지 말라고 이야기하고 싶다”고 덧붙였다.
강씨는 며느리에 대해서도 “우리 며느리는 마음이 단단해서 (피의자도) 보듬어 줄 것으로 믿는다”고 말했다.
