 교육부 “역사교육 어떻게 개선 할 것인가”

자라나는 세대들에 대한 균형적이고 올바른 역사인식 제고를 위해 교육부(장관 서남수)가 17일 오후 서울교육대학교 전산관 교육공학실에서 ‘역사교 사 세미나’를 개최했다.

 이날 세미나는 중·고교 역사교사 80여명이 참석한 가운데 역사교과서 개선 방향에 대한 학교현장의 의견과 ‘역사교과서 어디까지 다룰 것인가?’ 라는 주제로 토론이 함께 이루어졌다.

 서남수 교육부 장관은 축사를 통해 “역사교육을 실제로 담당하는 교사들의 목소리를 듣는 것을 시작으로 현행 역사교과서의 문제와 해법을 교육적 차원에서부터 검토하여 역사교육의 방향을 세워 나갈 계획”이라면서 “사실에 입각한 균형 잡힌 역사교과서를 만들기 위해 다양하고 폭넓은 공론화를 진행할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

 아울러 교육부는 이번 세미나를 시작으로 앞으로 15년 문·이과 통합형 교육과정 개정에 맞추어 국민통합에 기여하고 균형 잡힌 역사 인식을 기를 수 있는 역사교육과정을 마련할 계획이라며, 역사교육에 대한 논의가 학교 현장을 중심으로 한 교육적 차원에서 논의될 수 있도록 국민들에 대한 관심과 참여도 함께 당부했다.(Konas)
