유엔북한올해 식량 부족분 이상 이미 확보

유엔 식량농업기구(FAO)는 북한이 올해 충분한 식량을 확보했다고 밝혔다. 북한이 중국으로부터 대규모 지원을 받은데 더해 아르헨티나에서는 대규모 수입을 했기 때문이다.

유엔 식량농업기구 FAO는 11일 발표한 ‘작황 전망과 식량 상황’ 7월호 보고서에서 북한이 올해 충분한 식량을 확보했다고 밝혔다.
북한이 지난해 11월부터 올해 10월까지 부족한 식량은 65만7천t이다.
지난해 11월부터 올해 6월 초까지 외부에서 북한에 들여간 곡물의 양은 72만5천5백t에 달합니다. 전체 물량 중 외부 지원은 26만6천4백t, 수입은 45만9천1백t이다.

이번 보고서를 작성한 FAO의 키산 군잘 박사는 11일 VOA에, “북한이 중국에서 상당량의 강냉이를 지원 받았고, 아르헨티나에서는 상당량의 강냉이를 수입했다”며 식량 확보 현황을 설명했다.
세계식량계획 WFP가 FAO에 제공한 자료에 따르면, 특히 중국이 북한에 22만1천770t의 강냉이 (옥수수)를 지원했고, 러시아가 3만4천t의 밀을 지원했다.
또, 국제곡물이사회(International Grains Council)가 FAO에 제공한 자료에 따르면, 북한은 아르헨티나에서 44만6천1백t에 이르는 강냉이를 수입했다. 그밖에 중국으로부터 쌀을 수입했다.
군잘 박사는 북한의 식량 사정이 크게 나아질 것으로 전망했다.

군잘 박사는 “북한으로 들어가는 식량이 공평하게 분배 되고, 상당량이 보관용으로 창고에 저장되지 않는다면 북한이 국민들에게 분배하기에 충분한 식량을 확보했다”고 평가했다.
