 신종균 삼성전자 사장은 이르면 이달 말 LTE 어드밴스드를 지원하는 갤럭시S 4를 내놓을 것이라고 했다. /삼성전자 제공 신종균 삼성전자 사장이 이르면 이달 말 롱텀에볼루션(LTE)보다 두배 빠른 LTE 어드밴스드를 지원하는 스마트폰 ‘갤럭시S 4’를 내놓을 것이라고 했다. 어느 국가와 사업자를 통해 출시될 지는 언급하지 않았지만 상당수 이동통신사와 협상을 진행중인 것으로 전해졌다.

신종균 사장은 17일 로이터와의 인터뷰에서 “삼성전자가 LTE 어드밴스드 스마트폰을 세계 최초로 선보일 것”이라고 했다.

기존 LTE에서는 영화 한편을 내려받는데 3분 정도 걸렸지만, LTE 어드밴스드 단말기를 이용하면 1분이면 영화 한편을 내려받을 수 있다.

신 사장은 “갤럭시S 4의 판매는 여전히 호조를 보이고 있으며, 갤럭시S 3보다 좋은 성적을 거두고 있다”고 했다. 그러면서 LTE-어드밴스드를 지원하는 갤럭시S 4가 출시되면 회사의 수익에 도움이 될 것이라고 했다.

LTE-어드밴스드 지원 갤럭시S 4의 구체적인 가격은 언급하지 않았지만 LTE 지원 갤럭시S 4보다는 조금 비쌀 것이라고 했다.
