국민 99 ‘국회의원 특권 지나치게 많다’
특권 제한 필요성 95%가 공감

우리국민 대부분이 국회의원이 가지는 특권이 지나치게 많다고 인식하고 특권제한이 필요하다고 생각하는 것으로 나타났다.
민주통합당 정치혁신실행위원회가 19일 발표한 '정치 혁신 관련 국회의원 특권에 대한 인식 조사 발표자료'에 따르면 국회의원 특권 수준에 대해 일반인은 99.0%, 국회에 출입하는 정치부기자는 90.1%가 특권이 '많다'고 답했다.
특권 제한 필요성에 대해서는 일반인 95%, 기자 88.1%가 각각 특권 제한이 '필요하다'고 응답했다.
또 일반인을 상대로 국회의원이 가지는 특권 중 가장 먼저 떠오르는 특권을 꼽는 질문(중복 응답)에서는 면책특권(214명), 불체포특권(130명), 평생연금(131명) 순으로 떠오른다고 답했다.
기자들은 불체포특권(54명), 면책특권(52명), 평생연금(33명) 등의 순으로 꼽았다. 이외에도 많은 연봉과 공항 VIP대우, 직원채용 지원 등이 국회의원이 가지는 특권으로 인식됐다.
이번 조사는 민주당 정치혁신실행위가 미디어리서치에 의뢰해 지난 9일부터 12일까지 일반인 500명, 정치부 기자 100명을 상대로 이메일을 전송한 후 회신하는 방법으로 이뤄졌다.
