이집트 야권 국민투표안 공식 거부

이집트 반정부 연합은 무함마드 무르시 대통령의 국민투표안을 공식적으로 거부했다.

[미국소리방송]무르시 대통령은 8일, 대통령의 권한을 크게 강화하는 논란 많은 헌법 선언문을 폐기하겠다고 발표했다. 하지만 새 헌법 초안에 대한 국민투표는 예정대로 15일에 실시하겠다고 밝혀서 야권이 반발하고 있다.
진보적인 야권 정당들의 연합인 구국전선 대변인은 9일에 발표한 성명에서, 새 헌법 초안이 이집트 국민들을 제대로 반영하지 못한다고주장했다. 구국전선 대변인은 정부가 새 헌법 초안에 대한 국민투표를 강행한다면, 국내 대립 사태가 더욱 심해질 것이라고 말했다.
무르시 대통령을 지지하는 이슬람 세력이 중심이 돼서 만든 새 헌법 초안은 이집트 사회에서 이슬람교의 역할을 확대하는 내용을 담고 있다. 이 때문에 새 헌법 초안이 통과될 경우, 시민들의 권리가 줄어들지 모른다는우려가 나오고 있다.
