 조갑제 한글전용 민족문화 파괴행위
 "한글전용, 한자는 외국어라는 거짓선동에서 시작돼"


대표적인 보수논객인 조갑제 전 월간조선 편집장은 "한글 전용이란 자해행위는 '한자는 외국어'라는 거짓선동에서 시작됐다"며 보수 진영의 한자 사용을 권장했다.

조씨는 1일 자신의 홈페이지를 통해 이 같이 말하며 "한국어는 30%의 한글어와 70%의 한자어로 구성됐고 한자어는 한자로 써야 의미가 정확하게 전달될 수 있다. 한국어 낱말의 70%를 차지하는 한자어를 한글로 표기하면 낱말이 암호나 소리로 전락해 언어 생활이 준문맹상태로 후퇴한다"고 주장했다.  

이어 그는 "낱말(단어)은 그 자체로서 의미를 완전하게 전달할 수 있어야 한다"며 "그 낱말이 쓰여진 문맥의 전후를 참고해야 비로소 뜻을 알 수 있다면 낱말이 아니라 암호다. 한글전용은 언어를 암호나 소리로 만든다. 이는 한국어 훼손 행위"라고 강조했다.

조씨는 아울러 "한글전용은 모국어 파괴행위로 절대로 해선 안될 일"이라며 "이는 민족문화 파괴행위이고, 창씨개명보다 더한 민족혼을 말살하는 행위이며, 교양 파괴로 국민수준을 저질화시키는 행위"라고 목소리를 높였다.
